Since the early 1980s, the automobile club KS e.V. has been committed to saving energy and protecting the environment. Each year, KS e.V. honors innovations that contribute to resource savings and climate protection in the transport sector with the KS-Energy and Environment Award.

The 41st KS Energy and Environment Award under the auspices of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMVK) was awarded this year to Bosch and Knorr-Bremse.

In the category "Mobility Systems", the KS Energy and Environment Award 2023 went to Bosch for the development of "Automated Valet Parking". The world's first automated and driverless parking system for parking garages to SAE Level 4, which has been approved for series production in Germany, reduces parking search traffic, maximizes space utilization and supports the trend toward mobility hubs, which are central to cleverly networked mobility.

In the category "Vehicle Technology", the prestigious award went to Knorr-Bremse for its brake drag torque reduction system. The system not only actively reduces the residual grinding torque of commercial vehicle brakes, but also cuts CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.

"Innovations in vehicle technology and in intelligent transport concepts are supporting pillars for making the transport sector fit for the future. We are proud to be able to award valuable thought-provoking impulses and solutions for more climate protection with this award now and in the future", sums up Ole Eilers, President of Automobilclub KS e.V. & EAC Vice-President on the occasion of the presentation of the 41st KS Energy and Environment Award.

With more than 700,000 members, KRAFTFAHRER-SCHUTZ e.V. (KS) is the third largest automobile club in Germany and a founding member of the EAC.
